More than half of a country’s trash often ends up in landfills, where it emits more methane (greenhouse gas) than any other source. Eventually, those landfills leak toxic materials into the surrounding soil and water.
Recycling is a special responsibility of everyone in the world. It serves as an excellent way of saving energy and conserving the environment. For example, some of the EU (European Union) countries recycle over 50% of their waste. Nevertheless, there is still a great deal of waste which could be recycled that ends up in landfill sites that are harmful to the environment.
Consistent with our philosophy to be eco-friendly, FLOOR DEPOT recycles its 5R Interlocking Hardwood Flooring through the “5R Buy Back Scheme.” Old hardwood floorings collected through this programme will be recycled into other flooring products or sold to companies that require wood in its production process. In effect, FLOOR DEPOT helps to lower the consumption of wood and hence reducing logging activities. |
